We’ve Got a Guitar, and Baked Goods in the Oven

The cold weather today calls for a fresh hot loaf of apple cranberry bread. The heat from the oven can’t hurt! Roads are reported to be impassible and the folks who manage the local infrastructure are urging us to stay home but I don’t mind at all. Charles is getting a lot better on the guitar, we’ve got wine and whiskey, food in the fridge and a pair of extra socks each.

So many good things! Chiron doesn’t have much snow on her, we don’t have a driveway to shovel, it’s sunny outside and it’s warm inside.  What else do you need at the end of a blizzard?

This cute little lump on the end of the dock is our dinghy.

Dock neighbors have been hard at work clearing the dock.

We’re iced in from the back but our shore power cable isn’t frozen.

  1. I wish I was on my boat today. I spent 8.5hrs today shoveling snow out of the driveway, off my wifes car, and getting to my truck so I could try driving out…. later, when the roads are plowed clear.

    Enjoy yourselves.

  2. Wow. Those photos of snow on your boat and the pier look unbelievable to an Australian melting in the Summer heat and we don’t get snow on the coast like that here. We went out sailing last week on my Dad’s 34ft Catalina in Pittwater, near Sydney’s Palm Beach. It was fabulous. Here’s my post: https://beyondtheflow.wordpress.com/2016/01/20/sailing-we-are-sailing/
I can’t sail myself and am more a long the lines of ballast or a liability but my kids do sea scouts and are learning to sail and my husband can sail, although my Dad has done courses etc. We have a little laser, which I love. It has a lot of personality. We’ve even taken our dogs sailing and out in the kayaks.
Hope you have a great weekend!
    xx Rowena
