We’re coming up on another anniversary of living aboard our sailboat full time. We’ve learned so much since we downsized from our last 500 sq ft apartment on land and moved aboard. In the article below, I share my thoughts about existing comfortably in a small space. It’s not for everyone, but it works oh so well for us!

This weekend I plan to pack away all my winter clothing and bring out the flip flops and sun dresses. Charles and I have many spring boat chores to accomplish, including a bit of engine maintenance so we’re ready for sailing this summer.
If you’ve been thinking about going tiny with your significant other and have questions about sharing the space, please feel free to leave a comment below. I’m not a relationship expert, but I’m happy to share what I know about living and thriving in a small space with your person.

I like what you’ve said about a tiny space being a relationship magnifier. I think you’re spot on. We moved out of of our 4600 sqft house onto a sailboat in July of 2018 along with our Great Dane, two of us and our two small kids. It’s April, and it’s been a challenge but we’re still making it. So many things that I can relate to. I’ve been living on a sailboat for almost 3 years now with my Admiral and Sailor dog.
I’ve enjoyed reading about your life onboard and find absolute truth in your writing as a liveaboard.
I’ll be looking out for your articles in future
Cheers,
From another liveaboard family with a sailor dog.
